The purpose of this blog is... Quite simply: to share Lainey-isms. Lainey says the funniest things, and I, as her parent, feel the need to share her awesomeness with anyone who cares to read it. So without further adieu, as Lainey would say, "Go for it Mom. I'm rootin' for ya."

Poor Dunkin
She told us she was giving him the business. She then proceeded to tell us that she was not going to beat up mom and dad, but she was just going to beat up Dunkin.

Reverse psychology
I just witnessed Lainey using reverse psychology on Jeff. She wanted to play with an umbrella in the house and Jeff told her that it was too big to open in the house and he didn't want her to poke herself with it. The convo went like this:
J- Lainey, that's daddy's golf umbrella and it's too big to play with in the house. And i dont want you to poke yourself with those sharp points. Let's put it away.
L- but I would like to play with it.
J- sorry baby, I said no.
L- okay... but I don't know how to open it. Do you?
J- yes, I know how to open it.
L- okay well..... I don't so would you care to show me?
J- not really, no.
L- because you don't know how?
J- *sigh* let's just put it away please.

Unsharpened pencil
We got Eegees for dinner, and the toy that came with her kids meal was an unsharpened pencil. She looked at it and declared "Hey, it doesn't have a stinger! That's really strange, isn't it? I think they made a mistake Mom."

My journey
Lainey handed me her coloring book and crayons today and told me it was time for me to work on my journey. It went like this:
Lainey: Mom, it's time to work on your journey. Do you know what a journey is?
Me: I don't think I do, actually. What is it?
Lainey: it's another word for project. So when I say 'it's time to work on your journey', I'd like for you to work on your coloring book project. Okay? Good job, Mom.
